We have a thing for Nacra's Sport cats. When we received our first Nacra 5.0 in 1990, we thought the best way to prove it was to just sail it! We sailed it up the East Coast of Malaysia, then over to Batam Island, Indonesia before the big one - Singapore to Phuket, Thailand and back!

Sailing the Nacra 5.0 such long distances, taught s a lot about Nacra. We can honestly say, they are built tough and are really nice to sail. After a good six years with the 5.0, we jumped onto the Nacra 5.8. This was the maxi-beach cat in it's day. Long hulls, towering rig, dagger boards, the 5.8 was the powerhouse. Oddly enough, we still own the Nacra 5.8 and so it was a blast down memory lane to use the 26 year old platform to win the 20th Singapore Cat Championships with it, again

Nacra 430 Rocket

Employing all the latest technology in design and build techniques, this 14 footer is unlike others that came before.

Advanced bow design by the lead designer from the AC campaign,

The bow has similar fluid dynamics of the very successful Infusion F18. Such an advanced bow allows the front beam to be mounted further forward offering a huge trampoline.

With a midpole snuffer spinnaker, just as on the F-18, the 430 is a pocket rocket. Stretch the performance with a single trapeze and it becomes a very quick little boat.

Large storage hatches in both hulls add to the usefulness of the platform. Kick-up rudders and  a boom-less make this as safe as it fun.

Nacra 570 Sport

What we really liked about our 570 is the way it makes straight line speed without any hassle. We raced it in our mixed fleet of Formula boats and it had no trouble keeping up with much more fancy race-tech! Under spinnaker it's simply effortless as the long narrow hulls really slice through the water!

The secret to this speed on the 570 is its extreme hull length to beam ratio. There are no dagger boards so its light and uncomplicated. The boomless mainsail is a real bonus and the mast rotation automatically sets itself.

The 570 is the largest skeg cat made today, like all other Nacra’s, it is constructed with polyester sandwich foam giving the hulls real stiffness and strength. With high volume ahead of the beams and so doesn’t stuff the nose in. This hull volume translates a much higher load carrying capacity for two, three and even, four.

The Dacron jib is sheeted to the front beams giving a large spacious trampoline area where the platform is clear of all blocks and lines. The main is built from MNX providing a hard long wearing material that holds the sail shape providing a real power.

Kick up rudders allow for easy launching and recovery and make sailing easy.

If you like your sailing simple and fast this is the catamaran for you.
